Gbam! Benedict XVI resigns due to homosexuality in Vatican

The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Benedict XVI, has not resigned voluntarily. The real reason for the early retirement of the Pope is a series of scandals that have occurred in the Vatican recently. In particular, in the middle of December 2012, Benedict XVI received a 200-page report on the blackmail of high officials who had been found guilty of homosexuality.

The document, Italian publications say, contains incriminating evidence against several Vatican cardinals, RBC reports. Moreover, some cardinals are suspected of corruption.

The Vatican has not commented on this information yet. Press Attaché of the Roman Catholic Church, Federico Lombardi, only urged everyone to mind their own business.

Meanwhile, according to unconfirmed reports, the Vatican has already set up a commission under the chairmanship of Spanish Cardinal Julián Heransom to investigate these facts in the Italian media.

However, Benedict XVI does have health problems. Italian journalist and expert on the Vatican, Marco Tosatti, learned that the Pope was suffering from high blood pressure and went nearly blind on one eye. "The Pope suffers from sleep disturbances. He fell off his bed several times during his trips abroad. He walks with a cane at his residence because of the pain in hip and knee joints," the journalist said.

Benedict XVI announced his decision to resign on February 11 during the Consistory of the canonization of the martyrs of Otranto. The news came as a complete surprise for the Vatican. The last time when it happened was in 1415: Pope Gregory XII resigned from his post not to let the church split.

Benedict XVI will serve before 5 p.m. February 28, when his renunciation takes effect. The Pontiff will hold another public audience on February 27 at St. Peter's Square. Six weeks later, the Vatican must elect a new pope.

One Killed, Others Injured As Hausa, Fulani Herdsmen Clash In Abuja

communal-clash-cartoon_358180653-300x242
A house was razed as Fulani herdsmen and Hausa natives clashed over stolen motorcycle in Kubwa district, Abuja, yesterday. One person was allegedly killed while several others were seriously injured.
The fracas was sparked off at 3 a.m, when a motorcycle belonging to an Hausa man was allegedly stolen by Fulani herdsmen.
The dispute heated up at 10a.m, when the stolen motorcycle was traced to the Fulani herdsman’s abode at Kubwa Extension II, off Arab Road, Abuja.
“The Fulanis are fond of robbing Okada riders and stealing their motorcycles at Kubwa, especially on this Arab Road,” an eyewitness said.
“They stopped the Okada man very close to the Glass church on Arab Road, macheted the rider and the passenger and stole his Okada only for it to be discovered that it was the Fulani herdsmen that carried out the robbery.
“In an attempt to protest the Fulani terrorism in the area, Okada riders, who were fed up with the constant attack on their colleagues, traced the Fulanis to where they live and argument occurred in the process.”
The Fulanis had guns and other weapons with which they fought the Hausas for daring to come to their domain, the eyewitness added.
He added that the Okada riders had to retreat to equip themselves and returned before the fight started.
Both sides sustained serious injuries, but one of them who was badly injured was said to have been taken to Kubwa General Hospital but died before he could be treated.
It was gathered that the Fulani herdsmen fled with their cows through the mountain behind their abode when they sighted over 100 Okada riders driving towards them to retaliate their injured and dead colleagues.
Confirming the incident, FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Femi Ogunbayode said the situation was brought under control after a house belonging to the Fulanis had been razed.
Men of the FCT Police Command, who were drafted to the scene of the clash, also confirmed that one person died.
The police had since deployed men to Kubwa and its environs to ensure peace reigns in the area.

CAN Warns Muslim Leaders In Delta Against Baseless Accusations

can_logo
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Delta State Chapter, has called on leaders of the Muslim community in the state to watch their utterances in order not to jeopardise the peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims in the state.
CAN in its reaction to recent media reports by Muslim council in the state calling for equal treatment, urged the Muslim leaders to appreciate the good things Delta State Government has been doing for Muslims in the state.
In a statement by the Delta State Secretary of CAN, Reverend Oke Akokotu, the body said; “Instead of asking the state government to accord equal treatment to Christians and their Muslim counterparts in the state, the Muslim community should appreciate all the good things successive governments in Delta state had done for the Muslim community in the state.”
Akokotu described as baseless, the allegations by the Delta State Muslim Council that Muslims in the state were marginalised.

He therefore asked Delta State Government to disregard the reports and agitations by the Muslim body, arguing that the agitation was capable of breaching peace in the state and jeopardizing the existing peaceful co-existence between the two religious bodies in the state, and also the peace and security agenda of the state government.

Justin Bieber To Be Prosecuted For Spitting On Neighbor

justin

Rumor has it Justin Bieber is set to be prosecuted for spitting on his neighbor.
According to TMZ, the 19-year-old singer will likely be facing criminal charges after allegedly spitting on and threatening his neighbor, who recently complained about Bieber’s reckless driving. The Calabasas, Calif., resident and father-of-three is unhappy with the way Bieber and his friends, including Lil Twist, drive around their gated community.
Reportedly, Bieber took out his Ferrari at 8 A.M. for a 100mph spin through the neighborhood on March 26, which upset the man. When he went over to Bieber’s property and yelled, “You can’t drive like this!” in the morning, the “As Long As You Love Me” singer responded with, “Get the f–k out of here. I’m gonna f–king kill you,” and then spit in his face. The neighbor, a successful businessman, filed a battery report and is not backing down.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that investigators will refer the case to the L.A. County District Attorney for review after the investigation is completed, and the department will recommend that criminal battery charges be filed against Bieber.
And the incident with his neighbor isn’t the only thing authorities are taking into consideration. They believe it’s relevant that Bieber has “shown a pattern of disregard for the law,” including speeding tickets, fights, threats, reckless driving, drugs and more.
Plus last week Bieber’s pet monkey was detained in Germany after the pop star tried to take him through customs. Just another situation to add to the list.

Wizkid on shopping spree in SA

Wizkid stormed an SA mall and went on a heavy shopping spree. Photo: Instagram
Pop sensation, Wizkid is definitely a baller, but if you doubt that, here’s a little proof; he shops out of boredom!
The Nigerian popstar, though always in the news in recent times, especially since his exit from the Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) camp, got tongues wagging again when he posted a photo on his instagram page with the caption, ‘Boring afternoon! So I went to the mall…#SouthAfrica!
The photo shows a hotel room full of packs, cartons and bags of items which the youngster got for himself (and his girlfriend – but son’t say we told you) just because he was feeling bored in South Africa.
But was Wizzy really bored? In the same week, he shot two videos, one for his ‘Lagos to Soweto’ single and the other, Iyanya’s ‘Sexy Mama’. Also, the 23-year old had hosted two night club events, an MTV sponsored one at Hush Night Club, Johannesburg and another at Moloko Night club in capital, Pretoria.
True to the title of the ChidinmaEmi Ni Baller’ remix, which he featured on, Wizkid definitely balls like it was going out of fashion. Recently, while on a television interview with OK! Nigeria TV in London, the ‘Holla At Your Boy’ singer was asked to reveal the contents of his pockets, only for him to pull out a huge wad of cash and credit cards.
Perhaps because it is not uncommon for celebs to engage in extravagant and excessive spendings with little or no investment in the future only to find out later in life that money wasn’t spent wisely, some are already taking panadol for a headache the young singer does not yet have ‘Wizzy, you shop becos u r bored? I hope u r investing ur money wisely o’, a fan on twitter tweeted after Wizkid posted the photograph.
However, the Star boy who has been very busy lately doing a lot of features and even putting out a few singles of his own, is almost ready to put out his much anticipated mixtape which will include special guest appearances by UK rapper, Tinnie Tempah and Mayback Music Group (MMG) artiste, Wale

How To Dress For An Interview

Dressing for a job interview can be difficult – you don’t want to go too formal, or too casual. It’s an imprecise science, but we can offer you some general advice so you’ll make a great first impression. Whether you land that dream job or not, follow these tips and at the very least be ready for celebratory – or consolatory – drinks immediately after.
Tops
dress shirt
The first thing your interviewer is going to see is your shirt, so make it count. A white shirt runs the risk of being too plain, and anything too dark will generate a negative impression. A light colored shirt will communicate a positive attitude to a potential employer, and a pale blue shirt will match almost every jacket in your closet. If the interview is more casual, you might feel more confident adding a sweater, or going with a patterned shirt, but stay simple with colors and patterns.
khaki-pants
shirt
Bottoms

In a more relaxed office environment, you might be able to get away with a pair of khakis, or even a nice pair of jeans, but we’re not all so lucky. If you’re unsure, khakis are a great compromise option. Get a decent pair that looks crisp and new. If you don’t know how to make your khakis look great, you can always ask your mom *winks*. Remember though, when wearing khakis or slacks, you must tuck your shirt in.
The Suit

The old standard, a suit can almost never go wrong; even if its too formal for the interview, your potential employer still see’s you looking your best. Here are some tips for wearing a suit to a job interview:
suit
- Never keep the suit jacket b*ttoned up while sitting – it’s not made for it, and will make you look awkward
- Don’t wear a brand new suit – you’ll look and feel stiff.
- Don’t b*tton the bottom b*tton on a suit jacket
- Finally, have your suit pressed beforehand to ensure you look your best
Accessories

You’re only half done now, as the accessories are what turn a regular interviewee into a potential employee. Keep the following in mind:
accessories
- Wristwatches should be worn on your off-hand
- Your shoes and belt should always match
- The metal on your body – cufflinks, belt buckle, tie-pin – should be coordinated
- A pocket square is always too formal in an interview setting
- If you’re unsure of the official policy regarding tattoos and jewelry, keep them out of sight and off your body.
The Interview Itself
Be confident, be polite, and be flexible. Make eye-contact, don’t give evasive answers, and don’t shuffle around too much. Most of all, give a good solid handshake. It can be difficult, but stick to a few simple tips. Only initiate a handshake after eye-contact has been made. Only offer your hand once your bodies are facing one another, and don’t leave it hanging too long if you’re shot down.
If you get into a handshake, mirror their actions, and begin to release after two pumps. You can never be too prepared, so check out the company online to get a sense of how they operate. Lastly, always follow up, it might be the hardest part when you’re in that state of uncertainty, but it keeps you in the employers mind and shows initiative; all in one quick call.
Closing Tips
These are just some general guidelines, but one of the most useful sources of information can be the hiring officer. Don’t be afraid to ask what kind of clothing would be most appropriate for the interview, it’ll save you a lot of unnecessary worry. If you’re bad at keeping eye-contact, try using looking at the spot just above the interviewer’s eyes. But don’t stare them down – this is a job interview, not a duel.
Lastly, it takes a real man to accept his failures gracefully. If you don’t get the job, politely ask the employer why, and if they have any advice for you. Finally, always thank them for the opportunity and request they keep you in mind should another opening emerge.

Hello users. My name's Simon. You're welcome.
There's a nutritional supplement that can help reduce the unpleasant effects of an HIV attack.
It's Swissgarde's African Potato Capsules.
It's derived from the African Potato plant which contains Hypoxis extract, Sterols & Sterolins (healthy plant 'fats').
It has many health benefits, especially it's ability to boost the immune system thereby helping the body fight most diseases..
The immune system is in the blood. As an internal defence system, it protects the body against viruses and germs.
The white cells in our blood are our body's 'soldiers' that fight viruses and germs coming in.
The protective white cells (lymphocytes) are controlled by special blood cells called 'T' cells.
The HIV virus attacks and kills the important 'T' cells leaving the body with little defence!

The Sterols and Sterolins in the African Potato Capsules help to maintain the number of 'T' cells in the blood thus keeping an active immune system!

“I almost died” – Lil Wayne

wanye

The Lollipop hitmaker has confirmed he is epileptic and says his recent bout of attacks earlier this month nearly finished him off after his heart rate decreased to ’30 per cent’.
Speaking to radio station Power 106, he said: ‘[I’m] prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them.
‘But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 per cent. Basically, I could’ve died.’
Earlier this month, Wayne spent six days at California’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s intensive care unit (ICU), where he was treated after suffering his latest seizure. He was later released from the medical facility and Wayne’s close friend, Young Money president Mack Maine, took to Twitter to share the good news with his followers He wrote: ‘Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home….God is great (sic)’.
And Cash Money CEO Birdman added: ‘God Bless.my son just release frm hospital.thanks 4 all tha ’

Bloody Easter day in Kano

No fewer than 15 persons, including a soldier were killed in a gun battle between the Joint Task Force (JTF) and suspected Boko Haram elements. The sect lost 14 members. The dead soldier was said to be from the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Kano.
Scores, among them another soldier, were injured in the clash, which occurred in the Anguwa Uku area of the ancient city. They have been taken to the hospital.
A Golf car bearing explosives was seized when the JTF stormed a building suspected to be the sect’s hideout in Yan-Awaki.
JTF spokesman Captain Ikedichi Iweha said the building was demolished and some dangerous weapons recovered.
The recovered items include 14 AK 47 rifles; four 50-litre drums laden with explosives; 51 other small drums and 10- milk tin sized Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The victims, it was learnt, were blown up by explosives detonated by the militants when the JTF cordoned off the building.
The interception of the Golf car prevented what would have been another disaster in Kano yesterday.
At the time of this report, security operatives were combing the area for fleeing members of the sect. Some adjoining buildings where they are believed to be hiding are under surveillance.
Church services did not hold in Hotoro, Mariri and Badawa for fear of attack.
Before Easter, security had been beefed up, with the JTF and the police deploying their operatives in strategic locations. They also used Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) to patrol flash points.
Kano is becoming the hotbed of Boko Haram attacks.
On March 18, the sect attacked a motor park in Sabongari, killing no fewer than 35 persons. The casualty figure is, however, believed to be higher.
The sect’s activities are threatening ties between Nigeria and the United States (US) whose Ambassador Terence McCulley was recently summoned by the Foreign Minister Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru over his comments on Boko Haram.
At the meeting, McCulley was said to have denied making any comment to undermine the Federal Government’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Last week, the police recovered some Turkey Oil cans stuffed with remote bombs; two cylinders with remote-controlled devices; 14 hand grenades; four rolls of wire conductor and 12 power sources from the sect.
When he visited his Adamawa home state last week, Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bamanga Tukur lamented the prevailing security situation.
“Today, there is fear everywhere. Churches are being burnt. Mosques are being attacked. The United Nations building was bombed. Motor parks are being bombed. People cannot go to motor parks again to travel for fear of being attacked. Security installations such as police stations, prisons are being burnt down and inmates released at will. Nobody knows the next target of attack. Nigeria is under attack,” he said.

Nigeria loses $6b yearly to crude oil theft

NIGERIA is losing $6 billion yearly to crude oil theft, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) claimed yesterday.
PENGASSAN’s President Mr Babatunde Ogun said at a joint forum with the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) in Lagos that Nigeria has also lost N105 billion to theft of refined products.
“This is a threat to our national security and our democracy. If this kind of huge amount of money gets into the wrong hands, it can destabilise our democracy and national security,’’ Ogun said.
He blamed the incessant loss of billions of naira on vandalism of crude oil and petroleum products’ pipeline.
Ogun described as regrettable the inability of security forces to arrest the unwholesome practice which led to a fire in Arepo, Ogun State, and the subsequent shut down of Nembe Creek Trunk line by Shell Petroleum Development Compny (SPDC).
He said: “An estimated 60,000 barrels per day of crude oil is stolen at Nembe Creek. Agip also suspended production in Bayelsa because 60 per cent of its production of about 90 barrels is stolen per day.”
Ogun said it was sad that no one had ever been caught or prosecuted even when the miscellaneous offence Act provides for life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of crude oil theft or vandalised pipelines.
He urged the Federal Government to beef-up security and warned that the oil and gas sector would suspend production and supply of petroleum products if nothing was done.
Ogun called on government to deal with the insecurity problem in view of the resurgence of kidnapping and continuous bombings.
The PEGASSAN chief urged governors and chairmen local government areas to channel their security votes to step-up intelligence gathering and surveillance to nip crime in the bud .

The truth about our private jet, by P-square

They are ever busy, taking their music around the continent where they are arguably the most popular act from Nigeria. An interview with one-half of the energetic choreographers and twin singers, Peter Okoye.

HOW do you feel that your latest single, Alingo, has been banned?
I heard of the ban, but, honestly, reasons for the ban were not specified. But what we have noticed and they haven’t is that when you ban a song you only make it popular. Banning a song on Nigerian channels doesn’t mean much because the major international channels still play the videos.
What really was the reason behind the video?
For a few years now P-square haven’t made a dance video and our fans have been anticipating, so we just decided to give them that. Alingo was a freestyle that we did even before the Invasion album; we never took it serious until it leaked, and we got good responses. Thus, we decided to shoot a video for it.
Did you have to take the recording abroad again like most of your works?
Surprisingly, no! The scenes were created and shot in an abandoned warehouse close to our home in Nigeria. It took a lot of time and energy though, because it has been five years since we did a dance video, the last which was Roll It.
How far have you gone with foreign collaborations, considering that it’s the fastest way to hit the European and American markets?
Let’s look at it this way. We have known Akon for over six years, but we didn’t have talks for collaboration, till he came to our concert in London and witnessed the reception. He was trying to open Kon Life in Africa and was looking for people to help him run it, so we teamed up in what we call a joint venture. We are establishing an office in Nigeria called Kon Life, because we are here representing him while he is out in the states representing us. So, all I can say is that the process is on. Just watch out.
Which country would you say is your biggest market in Africa?
East Africa is the biggest encouragement, a certain place to run to at any time. Southern Africa is a potential market; that is, it is still in the works because we have been working there for over a year. But a profitable market is based on an entertainer’s personal effort, because an area can’t remain hot for us every time, so we are exploring new grounds.
You are always on the road, how much time do you have for yourselves?
We try as much as possible, but we don’t get as much time as we would want. But we took the whole of January this year to rest, because last year was a very busy year for us. However, we are back on the road again. It is the nature of the business, and we are hoping for a 2013 that will be better than last year, because this year we are including the tour of United States in our schedule.
What is this rumour about you guys acquiring a private jet; can you confirm it?
It’s not true my brother. We had a deal with a private jet company, which provides that whenever we are going to a specific place, we would be provided a jet. That way, they always gave us their private jets to travel with. This makes our trips easier. On the other hand, we are close to the presidents of most African countries, so when they hear that we are coming to their country, they usually send their private jets to pick us wherever we are. But that is not to say we can’t acquire our own jet. As a matter of fact, we are planning to get ours.
How have you been able to live above the scourge of piracy, which most artistes say is the reason they have not been able to make headway?
Piracy affects all of us, but still P-square as a brand has managed to strive and be successful. The truth is that we know how to make money even from the pirates. Some of the marketers are the pirates that we are talking about, as a result, fighting piracy starts with them. We know our worth, so before a marketer buys our album, we make him provide the cost of production and profit margin. Our last album took the joint effort of three different marketers to buy.
Despite being blood brothers, are you (P-Square) likely to go your separate ways someday?
Peter and Paul are not perfect; we quarrel like normal siblings do, but we don’t let it affect our business. Even with Jude our brother, in business, he is our manager and he respects us as the artistes he manages, but when it comes to family matters, he is our elder brother and we give him that respect. Only our late mum had the power to make us split and she wouldn’t have done that. So, if there is to be a split, it will not be as a result of quarrel, but on mutual ground. Group splits are not out of place, but our blood ties keep us strong and our background won’t even allow us split. We understand each other very well.
Talking about your background, how was growing up with Paul like?
(Smiles)I was very stubborn as a child, but Paul ended up paying for my atrocities, as people often mistook him for me. We grew up doing things together and we still do. We have our mum to thank for this. I try to like what he likes and he does same, but in a situation whereby he feels differently, I just let go. We have been united from birth and we still are.
How has life been without your mother?
It’s been hectic. We haven’t sat down to do an album because she was usually there with us in the studio. As a pastor that she was, she used to pray on everything we do and even pray on our album a week before it was released. We don’t know how we will do it this time, but we hope for the best.
After doing the same thing over a long period, do you ever feel like exploring other avenues?
For P-square, music has become a part of us, but since we understand the pattern and are used to it we have started looking into other means of making money. But we also understand that making so much money and storing it is not wise, we have decided to go into various businesses; one of which is real estate business. This, we have been doing for a long time. We do businesses that we can get people to run for us without fear. We are also about to enter into oil and gas business.
They say you guys are arrogant…
Paul and I have two different personalities, so you cannot use the attitude of one to judge the group. I don’t expect all news about me to be positive. Paul, for example, waits for major events before being in the news, but I am more controversial. Our intimidating nature makes us look arrogant, but it’s really not like that.
Your brother, Jude Okoye (Engees), was quoted as saying he won’t produce any other artiste but P-Square
There was an interview where he was asked that question and I think he said it as a joke. Apart from that, Jude has a lot of businesses he’s into, so signing artistes is not really a priority for him. He keeps his interests on P-Square because outsiders might not understand the way he does his things, so he doesn’t want distractions.
