Boko Haram Attacks Prison, Frees All Inmates....

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect on Friday blew up the prison in Gwoza Local Government, setting free all the prisoners.

Saturday Tribune learnt that a civilian around the emir’s palace, where the prison is located, was killed by the gunmen while they were freeing the prisoners.

However, an official confirmation of the actual number of casualties could not be obtained in Maiduguri, as the Commissioner of Police, Yuguda Abdullahi, could not be reached on his telephone line. Also, attempts to get prison officials in Maiduguri to know the specific number of prisoners that escaped did not yield results.

Residents however, told the Saturday Tribune on telephone that the gunmen attacked the prison between 7.00 p.m. and freed all the prisoners.

“We were just coming out of the mosque when we heard the sound of heavy explosion and gunfire around the palace. We all ran to our homes only to come out this morning and learn that the Boko Haram group came and blew the prison and freed all the prisoners,” Malam Isah Yawulbi said.

'There’ll Be More Deaths In Nollywood Unless…'' -Cleric

Following recent spate of deaths in the Nigerian movie industry, a cleric who claimed to have seen a vision, Evangelist Emeka Omenka had warned media practitioners as well as members of the entertainment industry generally to intensify their prayers to avert further untimely deaths of very important Nollywood personalities.

According to the Abia State-born cleric, danger still looms in the industry except the practitioners heed this urgent clarion call for fervent prayers to avert further deaths in the fast emerging entertainment industry in the country, noting that there is an evil wind blowing through the industry.

He maintained that he saw a vision in 2001 that there would be a series of deaths in the Nigerian movie industry if Nigerians especially, if members fail to pray, stating that recent events in that sector had evidently shown that the practitioners didn’t heed the call to pray.

Omenka insisted that he is neither a prophet nor an apostle, adding “God has a solution to the spate of deaths in the movie industry.

I have seen what is happening in the movie industry since 2001 and I feel enough is enough of deaths of movie practitioners in the country.”

He maintained that there is a road that must closed to avert further deaths in the industry, stating that he had studied the industry in other countries of the world and found out that the spate of deaths in Nigeria is unusual and something must be done quickly to stem the tide.

“I saw a female member of the industry lying in state, but I am confident that if we pray fervently we can put an end to the deaths,” said the general overseer of the Wonder Working God Ministry in Akowonjo, Lagos.

Criminals Use Pastor Chris Okotie's Facebook Account To Scam People

Scammers have cloned the Facebook account of Nigeria’s celebrity pastor and three-time presidential candidate, Rev. Chris Okotie, and are using it to extort money from the public, his spokesman warned in a statement on Thursday.
Account cloning is when scammers copy a user’s Facebook profile picture onto a new account along with the user’s name and use the new account for various scams.

Ladi Ayodeji, Director of Media and Communications Strategy at Household of God Church, Okotie’s church, disclosed that at least two of such accounts have been created.

“In one of the accounts, they are sending mails to Rev Okotie’s supposed friends soliciting for donations for a purported kidney patient that Rev. Chris Okotie allegedly intends to send to a Saudi Arabian hospital for treatment,” Ayodeji said.

The requests are false and do not emanate from Okotie, the spokesman said. “The reverend does normally not engage in public fund raising,” he said.

He added: “In 26-year history of his church, there has never been a time when he (Okotie) solicited for funds from the public for any project. These criminals have ignored our instructions to shut down these fake Facebook accounts.”

The matter has already been reported to Facebook for action, Ayodeji said.

Exlusive: How Ibinabo Reconciled Omotola And Genevieve

14cd629b8692bd3cbdf816a35806c962

Fans of two of Nollywood’s biggest fishes; Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji, may lately be surprised that the two perceived arch rivals are now getting along with each other like never before.
Even though both actresses have denied being enemies before now, sources close to them have severally confirmed to Nigeriafilms.com that the two really don’t too get along with each other.
It is true that the duo have acted in movies as sisters more than any other ‘rivals’ or actresses in Nollywood, but sources maintained to us that they only get along when they are in front of cameras but always return to status quo immediately after they get behind the cameras.
But recently, the two have been publicly telling the world that they are best of friends.
First, it was at Ibinabo’s birthday held in Lagos in January. Also, at Omotola’s surprise birthday in March, they both got together. At the last AMVCA, Omosexy and Genny, as both are fondly called, got along and even made jest of each other.

MEET The Real-Life Vampire: Woman Admits She Is Addicted To Drinking Blood-Photo

A 29 year old woman has admitted she is addicted to drinking blood.

Michelle, 29, has been downing pig’s blood since she was a teenager, and now says she cannot be in a good mood without it.

‘Blood is as important as water to me,’ she says during her appearance on the show.

‘I like to drink blood when I’m reading, when I’m relaxing, when I’m watching TV, when I’m painting,’ she explains. ‘There’s never a bad time for me to drink blood.’

The Lancaster, California native’s addiction is so severe that she says she cannot start her day without a sip of blood.

‘I drink it and I get energized,’ she says of the liquid.

Michelle, a tattoo appeared on the current season of TLC’s hit show My Strange Addiction ans said she is addicted to drinking a liter of blood every day.

Sometimes she indulges in her favorite snack straight from the glass, but she also likes to cook with it or mix it in with other substances.

‘I wake up in the morning, I pour it into my coffee cup,’ she says – adding that she also enjoys an authentic Bloody Mary made with the real thing.

But not all blood is created equal, Michelle insists – she prefers pig’s blood to cow’s blood.

‘I prefer the gaminess, it’s a little bit saltier than the beef blood,’ she says.

While most people might be disgusted by the idea, Michelle says it is in fact very similar to drinking wine.

‘It definitely has the same ambiance,’ she says.

The season finale of My Strange Addiction featuring Michelle airs on TLC on Wednesday at 10/9c.

Previous bizarre habits featured on the cable show include an addiction to eating vapor rub, a woman’s fetish for stinging herself with bees, and a couple obsessed with taking coffee enemas.

And rather than finding the taste repulsive she considers it comforting, saying: ‘When I feel it going down my throat, it’s like having a cold and drinking a hot toddy.’

If she doesn’t get her daily fix, Michelle says: ‘I get irritable without it, I get angry, I don’t want to leave my house – I want my blood.’

She calculates that she has drunk a total of 1,000 gallons of blood since she first took up her habit ten years ago, which TLC notes is enough of the liquid to fill a bathtub 23 times.

In a rather messy report that shook the entire world says one of the biggest celebrity accounts was hacked. Quite unbelievable but this really is how MediaTakeOut reported it.

‘MediaTakeOut just got word from a FAIRLY RELIABLE SOURCE, that at least ONE of Beyonce’s accounts has been compromised – and the money in it was STOLEN.‘

Also, according to TMZ:
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ [that the hackers] have been “using” the credit information.
Our sources would not be specific on how the information has been used, but it could involve access and withdrawal of money. As we previously reported, the hackers have obtained personal banking information as well as social security numbers and that could be enough to obtain withdrawals of cash.

Beyonce and Jay Z’s marriage might not be as happy as they want fans to believe.
According to Beyonce’s credit report, which was obtained by a Russian website, the singer owns a luxury condo in Miami — which she uses as her official address!
The website, Exposed.su, posted the confidential credit reports of top shelf celebrities and notables, including Beyonce, her aging husband Jay Z; First Lady Michelle Obama, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson and others.
Beyonce G Knowles, 31, apparently filed for credit (or a loan) and listed her official address as the entire 18th floor at 1450 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 33131. Anyone who is familiar with Brickell avenue knows that it is the playground of the rich and famous.

Tisha shares her struggles in life with the many people who follow her with her Youtube updates. She demonstrates how she goes about her day to day activities by herself, from eating sushi with sticks, making a sandwich and to taking a shower.
“Many people ask me, Tisha how do you take a shower? I respond with my feet,” said Tisha.
But most people couldn’t imagine taking a shower without hands simply because they stand up in the shower. “It is difficult to stand on one foot and rub your body with your other while standing in the shower, that’s why I sit in the bathtub and use a bath mat to keep me from slipping,” Tisha added.

Policeman Beats Tenant To A Coma With A Hammer In Lagos State

A photographer with the Eti-Osa Local Government, Lagos was allegedly beaten to a coma by a policeman during a demolition exercise in Ikoyi area of the state last Wednesday.

Bolaji Madamidola PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim, Bolaji Madamidola, is an occupant of a building which formerly belonged to a former Managing Director of Oceanic Bank plc, Cecilia Ibru.

It was learnt the building had been acquired by Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria and sold off to another individual.

Our correspondent gathered on March 6, 2013, some policemen stormed the building to eject the occupants of the building.

It was in a bid to salvage some of his properties that Madamidola was allegedly beaten up by one of the policemen.

The lawyer to the occupants of the building, Okwarauba Nastor, said the policemen were shooting indiscriminately in a bid to scare off the occupants of the building.

He said the victim did not provoke the policemen but only attempted to evacuate some of his properties when one of the policemen hit him with a sledge hammer.

He said, “The policemen came with guns and started shooting into the air sporadically so that all the occupants of the building will run away. He (Madamidola), on hearing that the policemen were ejecting them (tenants), he rushed back to the house.

“As he ran into his apartment to salvage some of his things, one of the policemen later identified as Sergeant Raimi Aliyu, picked up a sledge hammer and struck the victim with it, causing him to faint immediately.”

It was learnt that the policemen, who thought Madamidola had given up the ghost, immediately fled the scene.

Sympathisers were said to have rushed the victim to about four hospitals in the area where he was rejected. He was later taken to St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island.

A friend of the victim, who craved anonymity, said Madamidola was still in critical condition and due to the severity Madamidola’s condition, he would need at least N1m before proper treatment could begin.

The lawyer said it was unfortunate that AMCON would authorize such a demolition even though the matter was still in court.

He said, “This is not the first time that the occupants of the building will be threatened with eviction. In April 2011, the same policemen attached to the company wanted to eject them but we took the matter to court because the tenants have been paying rent to AMCON.

“The matter is still in court and that is why I’m surprised that such a thing could happen.”

It was however learnt that AMCON had promised to offset part of the hospital bill.

When contacted on the telephone, the AMCON spokesman, Mr. Kayode Lambo, denied that the victim was beaten up by a policeman, adding that he only got injured after he slipped and fell.

Lambo said the occupants of the house no longer had the right to live in the house since it had been relinquished by Ibru after her conviction in 2010.

He said, “The property has been sold and the tenants there no longer pay rent. When the policemen went to the house, one of the tenants slipped and fell and sustained a minor injury. We took him to St. Nicholas Hospital and he is fine.

“There is no case pending in court because the property was acquired legally by AMCON.”

When contacted on the telephone, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back but was yet to do so as at press time.

Middle-Age Woman molestationd By Four Men While In Police Custody

A middle-age woman alleged to have been serially molestationd by four men while in police custody in Abraka, Delta State, has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Benin, accusing the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, and his men of negligence and failure to protect her.

In the petition by counsel to the woman, Mr. Ejomasuvwe Efe, alleged that following a fight between her and her neighbour, police from Abraka Police Station came to arrest her following a complaint from one Mama Afoke who she had altercation with.
She disclosed that efforts made by her husband to effect her bail was rebuffed by the DPO and DCO, who apart from intimidating and abusing her husband pushed him out of the police station.

She said: “Shortly after Mr. Isaiah left the Abraka Police Station, the Police IPO instructed the Police man at the counter to take his wife to the police cell and delivered her into a cell where there were already two men.

“As soon as the Police locked the gate to the cell, two young boys came into the cell where the woman and the other two mature men were kept, and immediately they started touching her indecently despite her protests that she was a married woman and mother of five children.

“The boys asked her to keep quiet and immediately grabbed her by her neck and gagged her with their hands while the others held her two hands and threw her violently on the floor and started to molestation her.

“In the process, she started shouting but the policemen refused to come to her aid until she went into a coma. She only came around the following morning”.

She added that when she became conscious, she noticed that her husband was inside the cell opposite where she was held, adding that when asked him what he was doing there, her husband replied that when he came that morning to effect her bail, the police pushed him into the cell for ever asking for her bail.

Mrs. Isaiah informed the AIG that when her husband confronted the DPO and DCO about his wife’s allegedly molestationd and kept in the same cell with men, the DCO ordered that he should be kept behind the counter.

While saying that she was later taken to the Abraka Government hospital where a doctor who treated her confirmed that she was molestationd, alleged that the IPO begged her not to tell people about the doctor’s verdict.

“After our client was discharged from the hospital, one Mr. Kobina Enamuotor who is the father of one of the rapist, Akpevwe and one Mr. Okotie whose son was also involved in the molestation, together with the woman IPO and two other police men went to the family of our client begging for settlement and they offered to pay damages of N120,000 to the family.

“Meanwhile, the DPO of Abraka Police Station seeing the seriousness of the offence and the negligence of himself and his men, refused to take any meaningful action and wanting to cover it up, before well wishers started protesting and sending text messages to the Commissioner of Police which led to the transfer of the case to Asaba”, the petitioner said.

She alleged that in Asaba the IPO who was detailed to handle the case started to intimidate her husband, threatening him that if they did not hands off the case, some thing more dangerous will happen to them since the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Asaba was interested in the case and was ready to deal ruthlessly with them.

“Our clients are in a serious trauma and cry for justice with firm instruction to demand and we hereby demand that the AIG should use hid good offices and detail well spirited policemen from his office in Benin to carry out discrete investigation into this heinous crime at the Abraka police Station, Mama Afoke and the rapists involved brought to book.”
