English woman, 24, stabbed to death by Dutch tourist

English woman, 24, stabbed to death by Dutch tourist

Police in India have arrested a Dutch man in connection to the stabbing death of an English woman early Saturday.
Richard de Wit, 43, was detained at 4:30 a.m. when officers pulled over a taxi in Qazigund, about 50 miles northwest of Srinagar, where 24-year-old Sarah Groves was murdered in a houseboat, according to The Telegraph.
“The Dutch national had fled from the houseboat in the night, leaving behind his belongings,” said Abdul Ghani Mir, the Inspector General of Kashmir. “He was trying to flee from the Valley, carrying only his passport. We flashed an alert for his arrest.”
He had apparently tried to escape on a boat, but capsized it and was forced to swim to shore.
Groves, a tourist from Guernsey, called the houseboat home for the last two months. De Wit had arrived two days ago and was staying in a separate room on the houseboat.
Police say the door knob to Groves’ room was broken and they found a knife laying in a pool of blood near her body.
“She was very dear to me, she was just like my daughter,” the owner of the houseboat, identified as Hafeeza, said to Sky News. G.M. Shoda was also listed as an owner of the floating residence.
A man reported as the owner’s son, Samir Shoda, was the first to find Groves’ body and was also questioned by police.
“The girl went to sleep at about 12 o’clock and the Dutch man was outside until 12.30 a.m.,” Afad ul-Mujtaba, Kashmir’s Deputy Inspector-General, told The Telegraph.
“After that everyone, including the houseboat owner and staff went to sleep. At around 2:30 a.m., they (the owner and his son) heard some cries, possibly some quarrelling.”
Reports stated Groves was sexually assaulted, but authorities said they could not confirm that detail until a medical examiner’s report was complete.
The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office has notified Groves’ family of her death.
A Guernsey Police spokesman told The Telegraph, “Family members have been informed and it is requested that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”
Violent attacks against women in India, including the fatal gang rape of a 23-year-old Delhi medical student in December 2012, appear to be a growing problem in the country.
A Swiss tourist was also gang-raped while her husband was beaten in March when they camped overnight in central India. Later that month, an English woman jumped from her hotel balcony in Agra after the hotel manager and guard tried to sexually assault her

Hard drugs estimated at millions of naira were destroyed by the task force, which also raided Kemekedoumene, Egbemene, NPA,  Macava,  and other settlements.
Chairman of the task force, Comrade Amakiye Ekaye, who confirmed the destruction said the raid as a result of the determined bid of the people to rid the area of criminals and harmful drug peddlers.
He, however, said no arrest was made as the dealers fled their joints before the arrival of the task force, while the fleeing suspects had been placed on surveillance.
Ekaye said harmful drugs sold by the dealers had turned thousands of youths in the areas to wayward children and made many insane, hence the decision to exterminate the illicit business.
His words, “Many of the hard drug addicts also went into stealing after exhausting their money on the hard drugs.”
The group sought the cooperation of security agents to sustain the trend and to extend the operation to other Ijaw and non-Ijaw communities in the state to check the spate of crime.
Eyewitnesses commended the task force for the brilliant stride to  rid the settlements of  crime  and urged security agents to join forces with the group to wipe out criminality in the Ijaw towns.

Boko Haram: Help North’s dying children, Turai tells Jonathan

turai10

Wife of Nigeria’s former President, Mrs. Turai Yar’Adua, wants President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint advisers with capacity to handle the Boko Haram amnesty.
She also said there was need for Mr President to replicate what her late husband did on the Niger Delta militancy to end the Boko Haram insurgency.
Speaking during a posthumous award to Yar’Adua for his contribution to the development of the Niger Delta by the Niger Delta Young Professionals (NDYP) in Lagos, Turai, almost in tears, urged Jonathan to have compassion on children dying in the North everyday, just as she maintained that poverty had turned the region into a death zone
According to her, “President Jonathan needs to take the bold step my husband (Yar’Adua) took in the face of critical opposition by granting amnesty to Niger Delta militants when he saw the alarming rate at which children and women were dying in the Niger Delta region”.
Although Turai commended Mr. President, whom she called, “My brother”, for his readiness to grant amnesty to Boko Haram, she pleaded that the process should be fast-tracked so that the problem of insecurity, death and poverty afflicting children and women in the North could stop.

“This is your turn to do the same thing in the North. It is imperative of you to appoint good advisers who will guide and direct you on how best to handle the amnesty programme. My brother, I am not happy with what is going on in the North”, the former First Lady said.
Responding, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter Government Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Taminu Turaki, said he will deliver Turai’s message to Mr President just as he said that the administration was leaving no stone unturned to ensure that insecurity ravaging the North was laid to rest.
Also at the event, Chairman of Arik Air, Sir Joseph Arumeni-Ikide, who was an award recipient, implored government to do more in the areas of employment, insecurity and enhancement of local content.
…President to Nigerians: Don’t be weary
BY BEN AGANDE, Abuja
President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, assured Nigerians that, despite the security challenge imposed on the nation by the Boko Haram group, it is not time to be weary because Nigeria will overcome. He spoke at the third National Presidential Prayer Breakfast meeting held at banquet hall of the Presidential Villa.
According to the president, “Nigerians must remain hopeful, focused and watchful to overcome all that is evil confronting our nation. We should note the saying of the scriptures that with men, it is impossible, but with God all things are possible”.
He added: “It is worthy to note that this breakfast prayer is coming after the Easter, a period when every Christian is expected to be focused, re-dedicated and reborn. With this renewed spiritual state, we should be poised on uplifing prayer. We are gathered here this morning not as a jamboree or one off activity but as a reminder for us to join our spiritual energies to pray to God to fill us with wisdom, strength, courage and guidance to make and implement right decisions for our nation. ”
I believe that all of us if we begin to do what is right individually and collectively, surely we will take our country to the destination we expect. We pray that God should use all of us Nigerians who know the right thing to do, to use all of us as change agents because if all of us do what is right, this country will continue to be a great nation”.
In a short exhortation to the gathering, entitled: The Blessings if…, Prof. Afolabi Falola, from a church based in Kano, said his message to the president and the gathering was like the valedictory message Moses gave in Deuteronomy Chapter 28 to the children of Israel at the end of his mission.

Ridiculous Varsities Grades:- Afe Babalola University reportedly graduated 11 students with 5.0

It’s a pity that the education standard in the country has truly fallen and teachers or schools deliberately awarding 5.0 cumulative grade point average to graduating students in the universities.

This awful act is always masterminded by private universities. On Thursday, April 4, Afe Babalola University was reported in a national newspaper as having graduated 11 students with 5.0 out of 5.0 cumulative grade point average! That’s too ridiculous, as nobody can claim perfection and super standards not usually associated with mortals of this world, not just in ten, but all subjects taken throughout the years.

My Melons are my selling point – Nollywood Star, Chiege Alisigwe

Chiege Alisigwe came into limelight after starring alongside Ramsey Nuoah in the blockbuster movie ‘My Love’ in 1998. She has since become one of the most-sought-after actresses in Nollywood. In this interview, the delectable actress talks about her NGO, which she recently set up to cater for the welfare of the less -privileged people in our society as well as her plans to establish a studio among other issues..

You recently set up an NGO. What is it all about?

What I had in mind when I set up my NGO was to use the platform to reach out to the less privileged people in our society. You know, somebody might be looking good but inwardly, he or she has a lot of problems bothering him. So, we really want to see how we can assist them in our own little way.

Have you reconciled with your husband?

I don’t know. I hate talking about my private life. But what I know is that I have a child now.

Which part of your body do you like most?
There are certain things God blessed with that make me to feel like a real woman. They are my Melons and my face. I am not saying that anybody who is flat chested is bad, the person still looks good. But if I dress, i will first admire myself before the mirror, I always thank God for making me a complete woman.

Like something you know many are paying to have, I have it naturally. And I thank God the way he made me. I am very grateful, I cannot ask for more.

Like how much can you insure these places you like most?

Money cannot be enough when it comes to those areas. I don’t pray for anything to happen to these places. I am ok the way I am.

Are you comfortable with the kind of movies that are coming out of Nollywood?

I am not comfortable at all. Though there are some good movies, the fact remains that Nollywood needs to step up its game in the area of production. Because, majority still need amendments here and there. I want the industry to produce quality movies . I want them to come out with something more challenging.

How has married life been with you?

Well, married life is good. Though there are ups and down, it is sweet at the same time, it is sour. You cannot just say it is all bed of roses but it is good. It is good because when the going is sweet, you love it the more but when the going is bad, you will still be there provided it is not life and death.

Does your marriage affect your career (Acting)?

No, it does not.

You stopped acting for a while now, what happened?

No, actually, I didn’t stop. But somehow, you do not need to act one million movies in a day. You have to advise yourself, I am the married woman that wants to combine my family with my career, and then you have to compromise. You think about your family first. No matter what you do, your family comes first.

How did you start acting?

Well, that was in 1998. When I left secondary school, I took JAMB; and I entered into the movie industry. To me then, it was a sort of whiling away time while I was still waiting for my JAMD result. Not like now you see people desperately want to act. It was not like that for me.

Was it like a passion you wanted to use to pass time?

Number one, I love acting because, I use to act drama in secondary school then. Secondly, I was waiting for my JAMB result so I want to use that to while away time. Because, I don’t like staying idle. Even as a child, I used to do one or two things. I have always been an independent person. I would say that I started acting because I hate idleness.

How many movies have you acted this year?

I don’t really know but it is not much.

You live outside the country most often?

I live here in Nigeria but most times, I travel out of the country because of the project I’m embarking on. I shuttle between Nigeria and the outside world. There are certain things I need to bring from there to this country that is why I travel most often. Like my cameras, I brought them down from there. Like the house of service I told you, I need some in Nigeria and likewise outside the country.

Like other actors and actresses who have ventured into the music industry. Are you planning to do the same?

I love singing, I have sang so many songs. But, we cannot keep acting all the time. Because if you continue like that, you can never have your time, you can never give your family that time they need. You act, you get another thing to fall back on incase if you are not there.

At the same time, you cut your shot. What I mean is this, if you are the boss of what you are doing, you can say, let me give this time to my family today and your assistance will take over. Also, tomorrow you can say let me go to work/location today. I don’t want to spend all my time in working (acting). Where I can be answerable to somebody without being answerable to my husband.

So, you have to initiate something on your own by so doing, you can tell your workers, go and do this thing and you will go and relax. You can also be doing other things that will give you time to attend to your family. That does not mean I would not act for anybody anymore. I will act for people but I can never be the same like when I started as a young girl who does not have anybody to answer to.

Does it mean you choose the roles you act now?

Yes. I choose. I see the script. If I am not satisfied with it, I will tell you that I cannot act the script. If I am satisfied with that, I will go on with the script.

Do you think you still have a chance in the industry considering the number of actresses who are eager to act?

Well, I don’t look at people’s faces. I believe that whatever you are, it is on your own. If you are good, it is for your own good. I always tell people to be confident in themselves.

If you have self-confidence and a dragon is by your side, you can even say hi to the dragon and go your way the dragon would even turn back to follow your footsteps. Just be contended with yourself, how you act,, do you thing in your own way.

Don’t mind how people do theirs. You will find out that a lot of people are out there who are following your footsteps without your knowledge. So I am not scared.

What are the challenges you are facing now?

Talking about my challenges now, I think it is what I am building up that is giving me lots of challenges. The other challenge an actor/actress can face is that professionalism in the field, knowing what you are doing. By God’s grace, we have the professionals in the industry. In fairness, I even love challenges so much.

What is your driving force in creating your own studio?

I decided to create my own studio because, I wanted something different apart from my acting. It is a kind of gradual step you have to take when you want to be there. I do not really want to have problem when I am there I will start looking for cameras or anything. I want to gather everything before I start the NGO. So that when I am out, they can finish everything without problems.

What do you intend to do with your NGO?

Ok, we want to reach to people because, so many Nigerians are hungry and I think I am happier if I am eating and the person beside me is eating as well. If am eating and the person beside me is hungry, I feel so unhappy. I derive joy in making people happy.

When do we hope to hear about the NGO well?

Not now because we are still working on it.

Tell us about your background?

I am Chiege Alisigwe from Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State. I am the last in the family of Eleven. I read fine and applied arts. I did my OND at Federal Polytechnic, Oko, before proceeding to IMT Enugu for Higher National Diploma. I did my youth service and now on the verge of doing my masters.

PHCN: Lagos Community Gets Power After 21 Years Of Darkness

The joy of the people of Agura community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, knew no bounds on Wednesday when light shone for the first time after 21 years of darkness.

PHCN10

The dream of the community was actualised when the member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, inaugurated the transformers she donated to them.
Beside Agura, eight other communities benefitted from the lawmaker’s gift of 15 transformers, which had already been installed.
Other beneficiary communities were Ijede, Ikorodu, Solomade, Imota, Aga, Mowonla, Igbopa, Igangbe and Okoitan.
The communities also benefitted from no fewer than 15 solar-powered boreholes.
Chairman of the Community Development Association in Agura, Chief Saliu Erubami, described Dabiri-Erewa as a worthy ambassador.
He said the last time the community “tasted” dividends of democracy in the area was 21 years ago during the time of the Social Democratic Party.
Erubami said, “It is when our daughter (Dabiri-Erewa) was voted to represent us that we started to have the dividends of democracy again. We have never regretted voting for her and her party.
Also, a community leader in Igbonpa, Pastor Olohunlomotito Stephen, said, “Dabiri-Erewa has proved beyond reasonable doubt that she is worthy of celebration. She is seeing to the welfare of our community in terms of social infrastructure.”
To crown their appreciation to her, people of Okoitan community named one of their longest roads as Abike Dabiri-Erewa Road.
Dabiri-Erewa said politics was about effective representation, assuring them of more dividends of democracy.
She told the communities that House members do not handle project money, saying, “What we do is to table the needs of our people and lobby for their execution without having hands in who the contractors should be.”
“It is the duty of the communities to prioritise their needs out of which we would pick the most pressing one. It is also the communities that would pick the sites for their projects without the interference of their representatives in the House.”\

Woman Gives Birth To Twins On The Road Of Two Different Highways

 twins

They never thought that they will have two babies on the side of the road, but they did.

Before a very pregnant Siobhan Anderson living in Amityville, New York, left her home in the morning to deliver her baby twin boys, her mother said, “You better not give birth in the Northern State Parkway.” She did not.
She gave birth on two other roads in Long Island, the Southern State Parkway and the Wantagh State Parkway. Siobhan and Bryan Anderson expected to welcome their twin babies on Friday, but Siobhan water broke around 5:30 am Saturday morning, almost a full week early, said Bryan.
Following the advice of their doctor to not rush or panic, they took their time and got into the car around 7 am. Siobhan said she felt a strong contraction, and suddenly she felt the baby’s head, just minutes after that she was on the Southern State Parkway. She told her husband that she would have to deliver the twins right there on the side of the road.
“She kept shouting, The babies are coming,” he said. I was like, “I think we have time to at least reach the hospital.”
They did not have time to reach the hospital.
Siobhan told Bryan to stop near Exit 30, where he called 911. Once the paramedics arrived, Siobhan said she could not move from the car because she was “holding the baby inside her,” but they did not believe her because most births, including emergency births, are not immediate, he said.
“They were helping her out of the car and onto the stretcher and that was when Gavin was born,” he said. “Born right here on the Southern State Parkway.”
It was 7:35 a.m. Gavin was 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
“As soon as I moved, he came out,” she laughed. “He was born at 7:35 am in the outdoors.”
Once they delivered the first baby of Siobhan, EMTs put her into the ambulance. The plan was to drive to the nearest hospital in time for her second child to be delivered.
Meanwhile, Bryan returned to his car and followed the ambulance, calling his brother-in-law to calm down.
“I thought at the time that this is the way it used to go down back in the day,” he said, adding that seeing his wife go through childbirth by surprise, without pain medication was “scary.”
But less than 10 minutes later, the ambulance stopped on Wantagh State Parkway.
Confused, Bryan said he jumped out of the car. EMT said, “baby number two” was coming, and let him in through the back door of the ambulance.
At 7:46 a.m. Declan was born at 5 pounds, 15 ounces.
“I sat right behind her,” he said. “It was an amazing experience.” They entered the Nassau University Medical Center with two babies in hand.
“We were in shock,” said Siobhan. “I’m still in shock that this happened. I cannot believe I could do that.”
He said the scariest part was that she knew she had to give birth naturally, although she thought she needed an epidural before she left the house.
Siobhan, Gavin and Declan will be able to return home on Friday to be with Dad and his older brother, Dylan.

“He got what he deserved,” the victim’s sister, Gloria Sellitto, told the news media. “It was a chicken. Chicken got served to him.” “It’s karma,” she continued. “If there is a God, he was punished. He choked on a chicken.” Scala beat his wife in the head with a can of peas after a fight at his home in New Dorp Beach. The wound caused bleeding from her head injury she suffered at an earlier time from this man, and she died the next day.
“She raised two wonderful children, and would have been a grandmother in a few months,” said an emotional Sellitto. On Monday, the district attorney’s office of Staten Island listed the case as “killed by death.”

Top Navy Chief Arrested For Cocaine Smuggling

topnavy

A former navy chief of the small West African nation of Guinea-Bissau who is suspected of being a kingpin in the international cocaine trade has been brought to the U.S. and is being held by authorities in New York City following his arrest at sea by federal drug agents, a law enforcement official said Friday.
Four other men apprehended in the operation also were being held by authorities in New York City, according to the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Public television in the Cape Verde Islands reported that Rear Adm. Jose Americo Bubo Na Tchuto and four other Guinea-Bissau nationals were taken into custody aboard a yacht in international waters in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It said authorities took the five into nearby Cape Verde, a former Portuguese colony, and that Na Tchuto was flown from there to the United States.
Justice Department spokeswoman Nanda Chitre declined to comment.
The U.S. Treasury Department designated Na Tchuto as a drug kingpin in 2010 for his alleged role in the cocaine trade in Guinea-Bissau, freezing any assets he may have had in the United States. For at least a decade, Guinea-Bissau has played a key role in the drug trade. The country’s archipelago of virgin islands has been used by Latin American cartels as a stopover point for ferrying cocaine to Europe, where prices have skyrocketed at the same time that demand for cocaine leveled off in North America.
A former navy chief of staff, Na Tchuto is believed to have played a role in the arrival of a plane carrying hundreds of pounds of cocaine from Venezuela to Guinea-Bissau in July 2008, according to a statement from the Treasury Department. He later fled to nearby Gambia in August 2008, returning to Guinea-Bissau over a year later. He apparently feared for his life and sought refuge inside the United Nations Peacebuilding Support Office in Bissau, the country’s capital.
The U.S. believes the former navy chief also was involved in organizing an April 2010 attempt to overthrow the Guinea-Bissau government.
Fernando Vaz, the spokesman for the government of Guinea-Bissau, said that he had not yet received confirmation from U.S. officials regarding the arrest of Na Tchuto. He said he hoped America would provide Na Tchuto a fair legal defense.
Guinea-Bissau has been plagued by coups. The last few, including one last year, are believed to have been fueled by an internal power struggle over which wing of the military would control the drug trade.
A booming cocaine trade has turned Guinea-Bissau into a narco-state. Key members of the military have been named as complicit in the trade, including several army and navy chiefs who are now on the United States’ drug kingpin list. The infusion of illicit cash has emboldened an already bloated army. Drugs, observers say, played a role in the recent coup.
The arrest of Na Tchuto comes amid rumors of another looming coup in the capital.
Antonio Indjai, chief of staff of the country’s armed forces, told reporters Thursday that reports that a coup was under way were false.
“They’re only speculation by people of bad faith that serve to destabilize the country,” Indjai said in the capital of Bissau, according to comments reported by the Agencia Noticiosa da Guine-Bissau news agency.

FG Says No Step Has Been Taken On NECO, UTME

Neco-RegNJamb-reg

Following comments, mostly against the purported scrapping of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME and the National Examination Council, NECO, the Federal Government has said that no decision has been taken on the matter.
Many groups including members of the National Assembly and labour unions, and the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, have already kicked against the planned scrapping of the institutions, which have been providing services for students across the country.
Although the government is yet to issue a white paper on the recommendation of the Oronsaye Report, which recommended the reduction of government agencies to a reasonable number to save costs, a top government official last week leaked a report to state House correspondents, claiming that NECO and UTME had been laid to rest, Vanguard reports.
In his reaction, the Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, said in Abuja that the government was yet to take any decision on the issue and asked Nigerians not to panic.
Wike said it was improper for people to spread rumours about what the administration had not taken a firm decision on.
“It is true that there was a committee set up to issue a white paper on the Oronsaye Report and up till now the committee has not presented its report to the government for examination and adoption to warrant the kind of rumours making the rounds and causing anxiety in the country.
“What Nigerians should believe and expect from the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan is nothing but the best at all times. This government means well for the education sector and will therefore not do anything that will not be in the best interest of all Nigerians.
“If the government wants to take any decision on JAMB, NECO and the rest, such actions will be weighed and taken with the overall best interest of all and I can assure Nigerians that no such action has yet been taken.”
According to Wike, the government was rather working hard to reposition the education sector by providing necessary facilities and personnel for all the unity schools in the country as well as strengthen tertiary education to make it more useful to Nigerians.
The overall goal of the education ministry, Wike said, was to meet the Millennium Development Goals and pave the way for some Nigerian universities to meet international standards and be counted among the best in the world.
“The situation in the Nigerian education system is taking a better shape that it was when we first came in and we are not going to rest until we sanitise the situation for the interest of the nation and its people because education holds the key for the nation’s advancement,” Wike stated.

Lady was Impregnated 8 Times By Manager of the Company She Went to do IT

Her story will help ladies who allow desperation to overshadow their reasoning when dealing with me. Please, if you know any lady who's currently searching for job desperately or one who has a job but is under pressure by her boss or one supervisor in her office for sex, please share this with her.

Below is the sad story of this 24 years old lady....

It was one bright Friday morning at Finniky Restaurant, where we were having our jaw-jaw over the many activities of Reality Entertainment, publishers of your darling newspaper, Airwaves Watch.

At first, I did not know if it was the face of the Editor-in-Chief, Kazeem Popoola, or the name, which one of the familiar faces around shouted aloud that caught the attention of this pretty lady, who sat at the far corner of the restaurant...

All I could recollect was that she walked towards our table and introduced herself to the EIC as one of the great followers of his entertainment pages in one of the daily newspapers and also quipped to have seen him on TV a couple of days back talking about a seminar and football match organized in honour of late Ambassador Olusola.

The lady requested to see Kazeem in camera. The request left me and other crew members giggling in jealousy. But when Kazeem returned, I was informed to prepare for an interview session with her the next day. As a rookie in the print media, I was nervous and ignorant of what to ask the lady. Aside that, I asked myself why an interview with somebody who is not a celebrity? Surprisingly, the 30 minutes interview with Ada (not real name) turned out to be a mind-blowing and a great lesson for aspiring broadcasters who are desperately in need of a place for Industrial Training (IT).

In this exclusive interview, the University of Ibadan Mass Communication graduate opened up on how her naiveté turned her into a sex toy for a popular Radio station general manager.

How did it happen?

(Pauses)…I have been living with this pain for quite a while and anytime I see young girls scrambling to get a place at a TV, Radio or even print media for Industrial Training (IT), I yearn to have an opportunity of sharing my experience so they could learn and act wisely. And I thank God for this medium, and I hope this will be published because all my effort in the past was frustrated. A couple of years ago, 2010 to be precise, after my 300 level in school, I was due for an IT, so I decided to come to Lagos to search for a TV or radio station where I can do the compulsory training.

I tried for some months but getting a place proved difficult. It was in the course of the search that I met this (pointing to a picture in her hand) General Manager of a popular radio station located on Island at an eatery on the mainland. I grabbed the opportunity of telling him my problem. He asked me to come over to his office the next day. I was so happy that I couldn’t hold back my joy because my instinct told me I have gotten a place for my IT.

On getting to his office the next day, I got the shock of my life when he told me point blank that I have to sleep with him before he could allow me to have the training in the station. He even put the icing on the cake with a promise to offer me a job after graduating from the university.
I initially declined his request but I eventually obliged after considering my plight and the difficulty in getting a place for the IT.

He took me to a hotel somewhere close to the station, and this later turned to our love nest. Apart from regular visits to the hotel, which he referred to as his slaughter house, we often made love in his office, car, and toilet or anywhere at any time he wanted to satisfy his sexual appetite.

It became a normal routine for me because I was enjoying it and when he later proposed that I should marry him I was very happy, not minding whether he is married or not.

If I had known that my decision would hunt me for life, I wouldn’t have done it (sobs…). At 24 years old, I have had eight abortions! Only God knows if I can bear a child in future. Anytime I missed my period, he cajoled me into having an abortion, saying it’s against his creed, which is having a child outside wedlock.

I should have seen the handwriting on the wall two months to the completion of my IT, when he instructed the security men not to allow me into the station’s premises again. I was shocked and all attempts to get him on telephone were futile. He refused to pick my calls.

Why?

I became pregnant after fifth abortion and I told him that I am keeping the baby for real.

Don’t you have a boyfriend before meeting him?

I did but dumped him after I started dating the station manager

How far with the pregnancy?

I aborted it a few months after

Did he pick your call later?

Yes, he did but I don’t know who told him that I have gotten rid of the pregnancy. We settled it and everything went on fine again, and I had three abortions for him after we reconciled. However, couple of months ago he just sent me a text that he’s no longer interested in the relationship.

It’s quite obvious that it’s lover’s affairs….

No, (Shouting…) I later found out that he has been sleeping with other IT students and some of the female staff. Why he kept me for that long beat the imagination of those in the know of our love escapade. ‘Shebi’ you are a lady? I wish you could feel my pain and what other IT students may be going through.

Would you like to revenge all what was done to you?

I believe and all I can say is “vengeance belongs to God”. I leave everything in HIS hands and allow HIM fight for me. But would like to tell every young and desperate girl out there to be careful and learn from my mistakes. I would have asked you to publish his picture and name of the station he’s working for but I don’t want to pay evil with evil. But if he refuses to change, I will be left with no option than to expose him.

What if he crawls back to you?

I don’t think so, it’s over 10 months now that we broke up and I learnt he has two kids from two women.

What are you doing at the moment?

I am currently doing my Youth Service at one of the TV stations in Lagos

Again?

(Laughs) Not what you are thinking. I am wiser now and the reason I am even talking is that victims like me increase everyday. It’s time to stop sexual abuse of young girls in both print and electronic media. This is a cause I would like to champion soon.
