Baby daddies waiting to follow in Tuface’s footsteps

Baby daddies
As award-winning, singer Tuface Idibia, exits the singles club, the world is watching the lips of some other ‘eligible’ artistes, writes CHUX OHAI
Singer Innocent Idibia, aka Tuface, will happily tie the nuptial knots with his heartthrob of many years, Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay in Dubai on Saturday (tomorrow). For the couple, who are both stars in their own rights, the much-vaunted wedding is the climax of a relationship that has somewhat managed to survive many storms and crises.
Before Tuface made the all-important decision to walk down the aisle with Annie, many music fans had literally concluded that he was not marriageable. With about five children from three women, most single ladies had stopped dreaming of grabbing him for keeps.
For a while, the talented singer was the butt of many jokes rolling down the lips of every stand-up comedian in the country. Some of them even referred to him by funny pseudonyms. They called him ‘Father Abraham’. But all that now belongs to the past.
As the hour draws near, Tuface and his bride will be counting their blessings and looking forward to a future filled with marital bliss. Unfortunately the same cannot yet be said about his colleagues who have yet to summon the courage to quit bachelorhood.
Interestingly some of these artistes are currently walking the same path that Tuface has just abandoned.
It is no longer news that the likes of Timaya, Terry G, Ice Prince, Wizkid and MayD have been weaving in and out of relationships with women. They seem to have many things going for them: they are young, famous, rich and enjoy lots of goodwill from music fans across the country. The only snag is that they seem to be contented with making babies without getting married to their mothers.
A few months after Timaya’s romance with Empress Njamah packed up, the dreadlocked dancehall star found happiness again when his girlfriend, Barbara, was delivered of a baby girl.
The new baby came as a huge relief to the singer who had been clearly worn out by the emotional stress that followed the breakup of his affair with Empress. He was so overjoyed that he sent a message to his fans on Twitter, announcing the birth of the child.
But Timaya surprised many music fans who had expected him to marry the mother of his daughter. In an interview with E-Punch last year, he made it clear that marriage was not in his agenda.
“I wanted to have a baby by Barbara because she is my kind of woman; the kind of woman I’d like to spend the rest of my life with and this was why I decided from the outset that I’d go the whole hog with her. But she knows that marriage is not something we will dabble into now.
“Marriage comes with a lot of responsibilities which are beyond financial or material things. God has blessed me with everything a man needs to have a successful married life and you can bet that Emmanuella and Barbara will get the best of everything money can buy but, personally, I don’t feel ready for it,” he had said.
Also in November, 2012, Terry G’s fiancĂ©e, Mimi, put to bed a baby boy in London. It was a double blessing for the baby daddy who had just moved into his own house at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos.
But, while Terry G had taken the first step towards solemnising his relationship with his lover, Chocolate City rapper Ice Prince and Wizkid appeared to be too busy trying to weave their way through a maze of starry-eyed female admirers.
One starry-eyed girl named Bimbo Babatunde was eventually delivered of a baby boy in March, 2012 and Ice Prince (real name Panshak Zamani) is said to be the father of the child.
Although he kept denying it, Wizkid was rumoured to have fathered a baby girl. Sources said the evidence that he might have joined the league of ‘baby daddies’ lay in a picture of himself and a cute baby girl that he hung in the living room of his new home in Lagos. But the artiste is reluctant to tell.
Apart from that, Wizkid was at one time said to be deeply involved with controversial actress, Tonto Dike.
Now that Tuface is finally calling it quits with a stormy bachelorhood, the question is: will the others now waiting in the wings follow in his footsteps? Only time will tell.

C-Ronaldo The Best Player Mourinho Has Ever Worked With? He Does Not Think So

Jose_Mourinho_493685a

During an interview on Real Madrid TV, Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho was asked who the best player he’s ever worked with is and he responded thus:
“I have had a lot of truly special players, but if I had to choose one I might go for Didier, as a player he is out of this world. I would like to have him by my side, so just imagine.”
Reacting to media reports that he criticized Drogba on the wake of his return to Europe, (Galatasaray), Mourinho said, “Drogba knows who I am and what I feel in my heart for him, but maybe people could think they were true,”
“It’s impossible that I would talk bad about Drogba. There is no problem because he knows that the last thing I would do is to say anything negative about my relationship with him.”

Female Ipad ‘Thief’ Accidentally Sends Her Photos To The Owner

ipad

A man who lost his iPad has been receiving pictures that have been taken on it since the tablet went missing. The woman now in possession of the iPad has been taking silly photos of herself, seemingly unaware that the tablet’s real owner Allen Engstrom is able to see the images on his iPhone, thanks to iCloud.
The iCloud feature syncs data across more than one Apple device.Engstrom has been posting the pictures on his Facebook and Twitter pages to entertain his friends and followers, but also in the hope that someone will recognise the woman and help him get his iPad back.
He told KTHV: I have no problem with putting it on Facebook, because hey, it’s fun for me and it’s apparently fun for a lot of other people and there’s always the chance that someone will say, ‘hey, I know who that is’.
Engstrom added: “It’s been a continuing fountain of entertainment for me. It’s just like I’ll wake up one day and they’ll be new pictures there and I’m like, ‘oh my gosh, she has no idea’.
He stated that his name and email address are engraved on the back of the tablet so the current owner can’t have mistaken the iPad for her own.The woman’s pictures have gone viral on the internet, with many offering to help keep an eye out for the culprit.

Bishop David Oyedepo Launches A New Airline

Nigeria’s richest pastor and self-styled bishop, David Oyedepo, has made a glistening addition to his business empire by floating an airline called Dominion Air.
Oyedepo, who a few years ago ignited debate on flamboyant Christianity by acquiring his fourth private jet, is the owner of Dominion Publishing House, Covenant University and an elite secondary school called Faith Academy.
Listed by Forbes as Nigeria’s wealthiest pastor with a net worth of $150 million, David Oyedepo is a preacher and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, more popularly known as Winners’ Chapel. Besides his four private jets, Forbes also mentioned the preacher’s luxury homes in London and the United States.
Sources within the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the agency charged with business registration in Nigeria, confirmed the registration of Dominion Air with David Oyedepo as its chairman. Another source within a Lagos-based insurance firm known to handle most of Oyedepo’s businesses said the airline project had been in the works for six years and was only made a reality this year.

In a swift reaction, Lawrence Ofili, a member of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), “Pastor Oyedepo by his choice of businesses has severally demonstrated a disconnect between himself and hundreds of thousands of poor Christians who he claimed to have come to deliver. About 90 per cent of public schools in this country were built by early Christian missionaries; today Oyedepo has Covenant University but it is for children of millionaires,” says Mr Ofili.

“Even with the high school called Faith Academy, I am aware that most children in his congregation dream to be educated there but their parents who probably pay tithes and offerings cannot afford the school fees. His Faith Tabernacle accommodates 50,000 worshippers every Sunday; how many of them are going to fly Dominion Air? Honestly this project is not for the poor. He should have settled for mechanised farming to engage unemployed men and women.”

Why Terrorists Struck In Kano – SSS

SSS-spokesman

The State Security Service (SSS) yesterday blamed Monday’s multiple bombings at New Road Motor Park in the Sabon Gari area of Kano State on the complacency of Nigerians as a result of the improved security situation in the North.
SSS spokesperson Ms Marilyn Ogar, who stated this on Channels television yesterday said: “Maybe Nigerians became too relaxed because there was a little bit of respite.”
She claimed that operatives had taken out the leadership of the fundamentalist sect, Boko Haram, and that some loose cannons, who are trying to “find their feet”, are staging these new wave of attacks.

It is about 18 months now after a video showing the rape of a young lady by five students, allegedly of the Abia State University (ABSU), went viral and sparked outrage across the country.

YNaija has received yet another disturbing video, which apparently shows a young lady being violated by a man in the presence of at least two others who ignored her plea for mercy and continued to trample on her dignity without remorse...

The suspect in the video clip spoke in Yoruba, is light skinned and approximately 5feet 8inches tall.

YNaija cannot immediately confirm the identity of the individuals involved, the location, or its origin, but it is clear that a young woman is being molested and this cannot be condoned or accepted as the norm in any society.

Below is the transcription of the video:......
The video open with an obvious rape going on. The victim is writhing in pain and resisting her assailant (the suspect in the video) who over powers her and forces his way into her. After the unconscionable assault, the following conversations happen.

Victim: Ejoo (Please)
The Rapist: [Talking to his accomplices] – Ma a ya mi mo (Don’t take my pictures anymore)

Victim: Aye mi ti baje (My future is finished)… crying and screaming…
Accomplice 1: Saying something incoherent… (I am not taking the pictures)…

Victim: Continues screaming…
Accomplice 1: ‘Paddy’ mi catwalk (My friend is cat-walking)

Victim: Crying… Ejo eye ya mi (Please, stop taking my pictures)
Accomplice 1: Se mo ya e ni? (Am I taking your pictures?)

Victim: Crying and screaming… (My life is finished).

Accomplice 2: Kai kai (Stop, stop).

The Rapist: Why you dey…?

Accomplice 2: [Interrupts]…Did I say he should not record it?

Accomplice 1: I am not recording it nau (Swears).

Guys: Incoherent arguments…

Victim: Continues to cry, wearing her clothes…

Look at the photos well, if you can identify 'The Rapist' kindly drop clues to help track him and his accomplices. These guys are just so wicked! Let’s all say no to rape.

Sina Rambo and B.Red Gang Up To Beat Davido In Atlanta - Drop From HKN

New day, new drama. Entertainment website THE NET is reporting that Davido's cousins and label mates- Sina Rambo and B-Red had a nasty fight with their more popular cousin in Atlanta.

According to THE NET's story, the reason for the family feud stemmed from Sina Rambo and B-Red believing that Davido was doing little to promote their works and was intentionally releasing singles and music videos to overshadow their singles.

"Sources tell us a big fight  allegedly ensued between Davido and cousins B Red and Sina Rambo some weeks back in Atlanta – The cousins had accused Davido of not doing much for their careers as much as he should after they chose him as the label’s front line act. They also accused him of not giving them a chance to fully promote their new singles only to overshadow them at any given chance."- THE NET.

The fight between the cousins was physical which led to properties being damaged in their Atlanta home. Davido left his cousins in Atlanta to perform alongside Nas in Houston. After his performance he flew straight to Nigeria leaving B-Red and Sina Rambo stuck in Atlanta. B-Red is back in the country, Sina however is still in Atlanta.

B-Red who is Davido's hype man hasn't been with him on stage in his last couple of shows. He was also conspicuously absent at Davido's mum's remembrance. After the clash, B-Red and Sina Rambo are planning on leaving HKN.

B-Red and Sina Rambo are the sons of Davido's father's senior brother. Sina Rambo released his debut single 'Ijo Sina' featuring Davido last October. B-Red dropped his introductory single 'Insane Girl' featuring Davido in February.

Unemployment: Nigeria Sitting On A Keg Of Gun Powder – Obasanjo

OBJ

Former President  Olusegun Obasanjo has said Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gun powder because of its high unemployment  rate.
Obasanjo who  said this  while delivering the 16th Annual Lecture of the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute in Ilorin, Kwara State on Thursday identified the development of the agricultural  sector as not only capable of providing massive jobs for the country’s teeming youths but boosting foreign exchange earnings.
The Ota farmer said, “The number of Nigerian universities is going to about 150 now, we have a problem. The students coming out of the universities do not have hope of getting employment. This means we are sitting on a keg of gun powder. An idle hand is the devil’s workshop. But a hopeless idle hand is a tinder box.”
Obasanjo, who spoke on ‘Managing agriculture as a business: A practitioner’s perspective,’ said agriculture should be seen as business not a pastime requiring little or no business and management skills.
Obasanjo however added that the trend  could  be reversed  if  agrobusiness operators began to acquire  management skills for their businesses.

No April Fool: Phone Call Rates To Drop From April 1

Nigerian-Communications-Commission-NCC

The interconnection rate among telecom operators in the country was yesterday reviewed downwards by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
In a statement by NCC’s director of public affairs Tony Ojobo, from April 1, the termination rates for voice services provided by new entrants and small operators in the country irrespective of the originating network would be N6.40.
Ojobo said this would be further reviewed to N5.20 from April 2014 and to N3. 90 from 1st April, 2015.
He said the termination rates for voice services provided by other operators in Nigeria irrespective of the originating network would be N4.90 beginning from April 1, 2013.
This would be further slashed to N4.40 from April 2014 and to N3.90 April 2015, Ojobo said.
The current interconnect rate which is symmetric to all operators is N8.2, Ojobo said.
“This determination shall take effect from 1st of April 2013, and remain valid and binding on licensees for the next three years until further reviewed by the commission,” he said.
With this latest development, it is expected that call tariffs would be brought further down as the cheapest inter network call is about N10 per minute.

Glo Unveils New Strapline

Glo ambassadors, Desmond Elliot, Funke Akindele, Odunlade Adekola, Uche Jombo-Rodriguez, Rita Dominic and Sammy Okposo at the unveiling of the new Glo strap line "Unlimited" held recently in Lagos.

As Globacom prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary on the 29th of August this year, the company has unveiled a new strap line to reaffirm  its brand promise to consumers.

Aptly tagged “Unlimited”, the new strap line encapsulates Glo’s commitment to enabling the subscriber achieve his dreams and desires. It embodies Glo’s attitude towards its stakeholders and its commitment to be always there for them; facilitating the realization of their desires anywhere in the world, through the company’s world-class network.

Speaking at the launch of the new strap line in Lagos on Wednesday, March 20, Group Chief Operating Officer, Mohamed Jameel, said the new pay-off line marks a natural progression in the growth of the Glo brand identity and represents the unparalleled commitment of the company to its subscribers.

He explained that “Glo will offer subscribers the power to achieve and excel. It means that with Glo, they can realise their dreams and achieve infinite possibilities. To do this, Glo will give them unfettered access to the best tools that will enhance their productivity and energize their professional and social connections”.

Unlimited” underscores the essence of the brand’s belief in the consumer in the sense that our subscribers are operating without boundaries in their attitude and altitude towards what they can achieve in life. It means that consumers can therefore go all out, pulling out all the stops in the drive towards achieving their objectives because Glo is always there to make it happen”, he said.

He said that the new pay-off line also represents Glo’s attitude towards its management, staff and indeed all stakeholders because anything positive they seek is possible and Glo shall always be there for them, facilitating the achievement of their desires.

“Conversely, it is also an expression of our determination to go more than the extra mile to surpass the expectation of subscribers. “This means that our staff will always put their best foot forward in their efforts to satisfy our key stakeholders including customers, business partners and host communities with whom they interact from day-to-day”, he stated.

Jameel further explained that the new strap line captures the relevance of the Glo brand promise to its various stakeholders as well as staff after the monumental success of previous strap lines such as “Glo with Pride” and “Rule your World”.

He said that starting with the pay-off line, Glo with Pride at launch, Glo promoted and built a sense of pride in every Nigerian by providing a world class indigenous telecommunications network which offered Nigerians the enablement platform to succeed in different fields of human endeavor.

Glo later followed up with Rule your World, a message of empowerment that helped build confidence in Nigerians that they can achieve their dreams, rule their world and be the best that they want to be.

“So, we are happy at what these slogans have achieved for our company and our subscribers who have been inspired to dream, work hard, achieve their life objectives and rule their world. With the new strap line “Unlimited”, there is indeed no limit to what our stakeholders can achieve if they believe in themselves”, Jameel added.

Prophet Obadare dies at 83

Renowed world evangelist and founder of the World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry (WOSEM), Prophet Timothy Oluwole Obadare, of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) worldwide is dead.
The clergyman died on Thursday in his residence, No 65-67, Adinlewa Street, Akure at the age of 83.
Obadare, who was said to have been ill for sometime now was said to have died of illness related to old age.
Confirming the development, one of the sons of the deceased, Joseph, said his father died in the afternoon of Thursday. He, however, said further details about the death of the man of God would be made known by the eldest son of the deceased who was said to be on his way back to Nigeria from the United States of America. The young Obadare said, “it is a fact that Baba has passed unto glory but I am not in a position to give details of the development. When my brother comes back, he will give the necessary information as he is in the best position to talk”.
He, however, described Obadare as a man of God that would be missed by everybody.
When Nigerian Tribune visited the residence located in the heart of the town, church members, relatives and people from the vicinity were seen trooping into the compound to confirm the news and symphatise with the family.
The Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, described Obadare’s death as a march of the saint. Mimiko, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Eni Akinsola, said Obadare’s life, ministry and influence can be likened to those of the saints, rare and uncommon.”
Obadare, who started his eventful ministerial work in 1952 with the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), established WOSEM in 1974 with headquarters in Akure. He used the platform of WOSEM to win many souls for the Lord as he embarked on series of open air crusade as well as television ministration. His ministry was marked with many signs and wonders. With a strong passion for soul winning, he also established branches of WOSEM in many parts of the country as well as Europe and the Americas.
However, it was WOSEM, which brought him into national and international prominence, that also brought him in collision with the authorities of CAC, where he was the General Evangelist.
