21-yr-old mother of 5 causes stir over ‘hunger’

LAGOS — THERE was a mild drama at the premises of an Ikeja Magistrate Court, Monday, when a 21- year-old woman, Esther Odozi, a farmer, rolled on the ground and screamed that she and her children were at the verge of dying from hunger.
Odozi, who said she lives in Owanta village in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, came to Lagos last week and because she didn’t have anywhere to sleep, slept at Mountain of Fire  and Miracles Ministries where she begged for money to come to the old secretariat in Ikeja.

She said she was directed by an official of Human Rights Commission in her state to come to Lagos that she would get help.
According to her,  she needed N200,000 for garri and melon business and would not leave Lagos until she got the money for the business.
Odozi who said she bore the five children to one Donald Ugbaja, a former police officer in Delta State, said she was left alone to shoulder the responsibility of taking care of the children including twins after his death.
Odozi who brought out her breasts to demonstrate that she still had a child she was nursing, said she didn’t have any means to feed herself and her children. She said if the Governor of Lagos State could give her N200,000, she would start business with it.
Asked if she would like to be trained in any skill, she said no, adding that she just needs the money to start the business of garri and melon.
She appealed to the Federal Government and well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid, adding that she started having children when she was only 17 years old and that the father of her children drove her out after she had the fifth child.

Davido Is Underrated–Tonto Dikeh

When in late 2011, Davido made a brief show of his music talent, some might have thought that he would just come, briefly reign, and go underground as it has happened to several Nigerian artistes.

But two years almost gone, the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner is still waxing stronger by the day. He is one of the top artistes in Nigeria.

According to Nollywood ‘bad girl’ actress, Tonto Dikeh, Davido is underrated. She bore her mind on Davido in a tweet on her twitter page today.

“I think Davido is fantastic and underrated,” the Ikwere, Rivers State-born actress posted.

Tonto, who has also tried her luck in music, just like her other colleagues, has not had a fair share of commendations from fans. She was lambasted for going into music, which many people believe the actress does not have what it takes to be a musician.

D banj To Sign Durella To DB Records?

D’banj‘s quest for dominance in the Nigerian music scene won’t stop now; he might have lost out on signing Olamide and Davido – but he has nicked another artiste, this time a familiar friend-foe.
The self-proclaimed ‘African Michael Jacskon‘, we’ve learnt has signed his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend Oluwadamilare Okulaja better known to the public as Durella.
The move might however not come as a surprise to everyone, considering that Banger Lee (that’s D’banj’s new nickname by the way) and the ‘King of the Zanga’ Durella recently settled their differences. Some weeks back, D’banj and his DB Records crew released a single ‘Ibadi e‘ off their compilation album (D’ King’s Men) which featured a verse from Durella.
Fans were very excited to see the pair had reunited after a very long and well publicized fall out between the pop acts.
