To
mark the World Press Freedom Day celebrated yearly, The Chairman
House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Hon Abike Dabiri- Erewa will on the
7th May 2013 be speaking at the United States Embassy in Nigeria at
a program Tagged: The Effective Use of the Freedom of Information
(FOI).
The program is being put together by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria (Abuja and Lagos) in collaboration with the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and Pan African University.
The program will discuss how journalists can use the FoI Act effectively to advance transparency and good governance in Nigeria.
It will be recalled that last year Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Prof. Pat Utomi, attended an exchange program in the United States titled “Nigeria: Freedom of Speech, Expression and Belief” so this year both Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Prof. Pat Utomi will be leading the discussions in Abuja and Lagos respectively.
