Photos from the opening ceremony of Eko Atlantic City 
The first phase of the Eko Atlantic City was inaugurated in Lagos yesterday at an event which attracted some top dignitaries. Former President of America, Bill Clinton attended the dedication ceremony of Eko Atlantic City where Jonathan described the project as one of the good stories of Nigeria.

Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola were among those who graced the occasion.

Eko Atlantic City is a planned district of Lagos that is being constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean. Upon completion, the new island which is still under development is anticipating 400,000 residents and a daily flow of 250,000 commuters. The development will also have a positive environmental impact as its main purpose is to stop the erosion of the Lagos coastline

Former US president Bill Clinton, President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Fashola, Bola Tinubu and many top dignitaries attended the opening ceremony of the first phase of the Eko Atlantic City which held in Lagos yesterday.

Eko Atlantic City is a new city born from the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos. The new 5-million-square-metre city, is to be the first modern smart city in Africa to be built on reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean.
