BANjo Eyes Snoop Dogg’s Collabo
Afro
pop singer, BANjo says he is working hard to get the attention of
American rap star, Snoop Dogg, to feature in his forthcoming debut
album.
BANjo told P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends that the
growing popularity of his first single, Tomorrow, has spurred him to aim
for more quality production and collaboration so that he can surpass
his debut.
“The response of music listeners to my first single has
really amazed me. Recently, I was on a radio programme streaming live
on the internet, and some fans in far away countries, including Russia
and Czech Republic, sent in messages that the song gave them hope that
tomorrow would be better than today,” BANjo said.
He said apart
from Snoop Dogg, he has his sight on future collabo with other great
artistes including MI and Olamide. Already, he has recorded some songs
with other Nigerian artistes and with a Latin American singer whose name
he is still keeping under wraps. The singer claimed that he is the new
artiste with the most Twitter followers to date with over 400,000
followers.
Born Banjo Aladegbami, the singer is a University of
Lagos Mathematics and Statistics graduate. BANjo started his music
career as a teen from the church. He later became the youngest choir
master in the church, while also helping to arrange and direct many
music festivals in various towns in his home state, Ekiti, before going
to university.
His debut single, Tomorrow, has been described as a
fantastic blend of tight musical arrangement, professional production
complimented by his voice.
