Security Agents Seal Off Amigo Supermarket Over Owner’s Alleged Link To Terrorism

Stern looking Soldiers, Policemen and agents of the Department of State Security (SSS) Friday evening sealed the popular Amigo Supermarket in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
It was learnt that the fully kitted team of security personnel stormed the ever-busy supermarket around 7pm and ordered both customers – who were still shopping and staffers out of the expansive building located on Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2 Abuja.
The move is not unconnected with the discovery of a large cache of arms and ammunitions in Kano by Nigerian security forces in which the owner of the supermarket, Fauzi Fawad, who is now at large, was fingered as a member of a Hezbollah cell in the state.
Fawad is also a part owner of the nation’s capital biggest and popular fun spot, Wonderland Amusement Park situated near the Abuja city gate. We could however not confirm whether the park was also sealed last night.

Information Nigeria also gathered that all foreigners who were in the supermarket, including Lebanese nationals, were whisked away by the security agents in two 30-seater coaster buses.
Also, the military police and men of the Nigeria police mounted road blocks at the both ends of the street from Ahmadu Bello way and Ibrahim Babangida way while the operation lasted.
