Armed robbers on Monday morning
stormed a popular hotel, Regia Luxuria located on Alimosho road, Iyana
Ipaja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, and killed the hotel’s maintenance
manager and one of the mobile policemen (MOPOL) guarding the hotel.

An eye witness told P.M.NEWS that the 15-man gang stormed the hotel at about 2.45a.m. and started shooting.
They gained entrance into the hotel by scaling the hotel fence from the building beside the hotel.
“They
shot and killed the manager identified as Anamu and a policeman
attached to the hotel from Mopol 22, Ikeja, while the other policemen
narrowly escaped,” said the source.
But before they could rob
lodgers in the hotel, the police from Area ‘M’ Command, Idimu led by the
Commander, ACP Ibrahim Kaoje, raced to the hotel and engaged the
robbers in a gun battle.
An ASP identified as Sunday Enebeli was
seriously injured during the gun battle with the robbers and he was
rushed to a hospital where doctors are battling to save his life.

gathered that the incident happened a week after the management of the
hotel changed the internal security they earlier engaged and replaced
them with policemen.
When P.M.NEWS visited the hotel, the workers
confirmed the robbery attack and showed our reporter a car they damaged
with their bullets and the room where the policeman was killed.
The body of the victims have been deposited at Ikeja General Hospital for autopsy.
When P.M.NEWS visited Area ‘M’ Command, the area commander was not around to comment on the attack.
However,
police sources confirmed the incident and told our reporter that the
police have commenced intensive investigation of the incident.
